Today, a brand new food truck hit the streets for the first time, and Street Grindz was on the scene to check it out.
Whatcha Fillin’ is Hawaiis newest food truck to hit the streets of Honolulu, with another new and interesting concept. They call them “Waffle Cakes”. Its their own adaptation of a japanese street food called “Imagawa-yaki”. A sort of pancake/waffle batter stuffed with different sweet and favory fillings. From custards to currys, they have items to satisfy all kinds of cravings.
Their menu consists of a selection of “Waffle Cakes” stuffed with different sweet or savory fillings, made fresh right there in the truck with their crazy looking grill contraption.
In addition, they also have an assortment of fries that you can order with your sandwiches.
We got to try both sweet and savory choices, and let me tell you, they were tasty. From the custard filled sweet pie to the “french kiss” with ham cheese and onion, they were really good.
Follow them on FB/Twitter for upcoming locations and specials. We will be reposting on our twitter acct also, so follow us @streetgrindz.
