Last week @streetgrindz, a fellow blogger & food enthusiast told me that she gonna be interviewed on the radio & discuss one of her favorite subjects: food trucks! I listened intently as she casually mentioned she wanted to feature two bloggers who would write a review about their food truck experience. I thought she was just sharing her good news with me, that’s why I was completely surprised when she asked if I wanted to be one of the bloggers. I jumped at the opportunity to review the Melt food truck. (Thank you so much Poni for thinking of me, I sincerely appreciate it!)
Just to write Melt’s review was an adventure in itself, I faced numerous obstacles: 1) The freeway was congested with last minute holiday shoppers & with each passing minute I grew anxious that Melt would run out of food & close up shop. 2) I wasn’t familiar with the University area & drove at a snail’s pace trying to find their truck. (I’m really sorry to anyone who drove behind me that day). 3) Finding parking during finals week & during lunch time was a nightmare.
All of that madness escaped my mind after I placed my order & was finally able to catch my breath. Since I wasn’t able to try one of Melt’s delicious slushies, I decided the next best thing was to get a gigantic strawberry icee from Sam’s Club & enjoy my lunch there. It seemed like an impossible task trying to find parking during the lunch hour rush; & on my quest to find a parking stall, a light tradewind passed through my windows & filled my car with the delicious aroma of my Bacon Melt, which made it impossible to concentrate on anything else. After I retrieved the coveted strawberry icee I found a table on their outdoor balcony & practically drooled over what I was about to devour.
My first spoonful of Melt’s tomato soup has altered my perception of what tomato soup should taste like. My mind couldn’t stop thinking of all the pasta & bread I wanted to devour with this intoxicating mixture of delicious ingredients. If Melt’s soup was this amazing, I couldn’t imagine how mouth-watering my Bacon Melt would be, this sandwich consists of cave-aged gruyere, hobbs bacon, onion apple sage jam on wheat. I’ve read numerous reviews about their menu on twitter & various websites, for the record it definitely lives up to all the hype. I’ve never been happier about eating a meal in my life & sad at the same time, knowing it would eventually come to an end; which is why I took a picture of my last few bites hoping to somehow prolong this experience.
Honestly, I would go through all of this madness just to visit the Melt food truck. The only difference, I’d order more food.
If you’re a fan of grilled cheese sandwiches, I highly recommend you try anything on Melt’s menu. I must warn you, after you eat a Melt sandwich, it will become the standard which you’ll harshly compare all other grilled cheese sandwiches with.

I totaly agree, once you go Melt you will never want any other grilled cheese sandwich. My favorite is the Melt of Shame!
It sounds delicous because the food truck business is a real great thing. I don't see what's bad in great diverse tastes, low cost food and great people. I sure prefer it over any fast food restaurant in the local mall.
