Lox of bagels is known for their storefront on sand island access road. Sending out some of the freshest bagels this side of New York city. What some people don’t know is, they also have a truck. This aptly colored, salmon pink truck made its debut at Eat The Street for Winterfest, though they have been spotted around town before that. We caught up with Lox Of Bagels at Kakaako waterfront park today to try one of their delicious bagel sandwiches. I had previously heard great things about their chicken salad and their pastrami sandwiches, but by the time I got there, they were already fresh out of pastrami. Guess I have an excuse to go back.

Decided to go with a turkey and provelone sandwich. You get to chose your bagel (I got mine on an everything bagel), and they will even toast it for you. Naturally, I had them do just that.

The sandwiches are made pretty quickly inside the truck, with the same fresh bagels from their shop. Even after toasting and assembling my sandwich, my wait time must have been under 5 minutes. Great for someone who wants a quick grab and go.

I was pretty excited about the pickle. I cant even remember the last time i had a pickle with my sandwich. Sometimes its the little things.

The bagel was slightly toasted on the outside which added a nice crunch, but the inside was soft and chewy like any good bagel should be. I love being able to bite into it, and not having it fall apart on me. Turkey, provalone, lettuce, sprouts, tomato, and red onion. And of course, the pickle. Talk about the perfect lunch food for sitting in the park at Kakaako. Thanks to the thick chewy bagel, just the one sandwich was nice and filling. Look for Lox Of Bagels at Eat The Street, and Tacoako Tuesday, and try one of their bagel sandwiches. You won’t be sorry.
